Speech, Language, and Literacy Therapy for Children

The Language and Reading Approach

Pamela C. Payne, MS, CCC-SLP, Board Recognized Specialist in Child Language (ASHA designation), is a very experienced speech and language pathologist who specializes in teaching speech intelligibility, language and reading simultaneously and interactively.

This systematic approach to teaching language and reading skills is applicable to children diagnosed as language disordered/delayed, Autism Spectrum Disorder, hearing impaired/cochlear implant and/or Childhood Apraxia of Speech, or for English Language Learners, or children experiencing frustration in learning to read in regular education classrooms.  It is appropriate for children with chronological ages of 2 ½ to 10+ years and mental ages of at least 24 months.

Ms. Payne developed this curriculum, called JEEPP™, after many years of discovering and testing which treatment strategies are effective and which are inadequate in school and clinical settings.

Ms. Payne teaches JEEPP techniques to professionals in presentations in school/clinic in-service formats, as well as hands-on workshops for professionals.  Many professionals know her through her LINKS to Language and ParagraphsPrograms seminars, which she has presented to thousands of clinicians across the nation since 1990.

For parents, Ms. Payne offers presentations to professional/parent groups as well as to individual parents and their team of therapists.

Also, Ms. Payne conducts private therapy sessions in Morristown, NJ with selected children.

Soon, LanguageandReading.com will offer some of the JEEPP sentences and stories on an internet-based subscription basis.
